The Annual Art of the Heartland National Competition has grown to be one of the nation’s premiere shows for representational art.   It is an opportunity for advanced amateurs and professional artists across America to compete with their peers for cash awards in excess of $7,000, including a special $1,000 award to support the artists of our home state of Arkansas.

Artists are required to submit their entries by visiting the following link:, where they will also find the show prospectus as entry time approaches. Paintings, including frame may not exceed 36 inches in any direction.  Entries will close July 15, 2020.

Judge for the 2020 show is Tim Tyler,, a contemporary artist who works in a representational manner. He has gained much notoriety for his use of female figures, who he portrays in strong poses.

The 2020, 6th Annual Art of the Heartland National Competition will be on exhibition in the gallery from September 5 through October 31.
