2015 launched the first of what was to become two prestigious National Shows held at the Mena Art Gallery.  “The Art of the Heartland National Competition” was the first. This outstanding show showcases some of the finest in representational paintings from across the country. In it’s 7th year, it will be formally on exhibition from the time of it’s invitational awards reception, September 4th  through October 29.

After the success of this show and the trend toward a smaller format, in 2017 the “Small Works National Competition” was held. As is the case with the Heartland show, “Small Works” fills the gallery with outstanding paintings, representing most of the United States and occasionally you find one no larger than an inch in size.

In 2020 both shows were extended to two months on exhibition. Artists wishing to participate in either or both of these shows may find the prospectus and entry information at www.smarterentry.com/callsforentry/swa. As entries close well in advance, artists are advised to make their plans early.
